- Protein:Â Assorted meats (beef, goat meat, shaki/cow tripe), stockfish, and dry fish.
- Vegetables:Â Fresh Oha leaves (shredded by hand, not cut with a knife, to prevent discoloration and bitterness), and Uziza leaves (optional).
- Thickener:Â Cocoyam (peeled and pounded into a smooth paste) or Achi powder (mixed with water into a paste).
- Seasoning:Â Palm oil, ground crayfish, seasoning cubes, Scotch bonnet peppers (minced), Ogiri Igbo (fermented oil bean seed), and salt to taste.
